Mediation

Meditation is a form of mental exercise, which aids relaxation and calms the mind, helping to reduce fear, pain, anxiety and depression. Regular meditation reduces pulse rate, and lowers blood pressure and stress. Focusing on feeling better brings a significant improvement in mood. Bringing happy and relaxed images into the mind recaptures previous good feeling. It gives a great sense of control and a feeling of being at peace with oneself.

It is advisable to point out that it is preferable to practice meditation in a group, rather than alone, until the art has been learnt. As a precaution, one should not use lighted candles when meditating alone.
